Your relationship is Your relationship

Sometimes you get angry and want to vent. You find a friend or family member. Many times they will agree with you. Some may tell you the truth or what you should do. Are they in successful relationships? What is a successful relationship? Do they have their own mate? Clearly it is less expensive to talk to a friend than to pay someone to listen. But it's not a good idea to share too much of your personal information. Your friend should not know your mate as well as you do. In addition too much information makes your friend see your mate differently. When you have moved on and are over the issue or problem , your friend may still be holding a grudge. Sometimes it will even make your mate uncomfortable around your friends and family in the future. Don't get me wrong some situations should definitely be communicated, like any abusive situation. Make SURE someone knows about those situations. But, for some of the other arguments couples have, drive around, pace the floor and most importantly talk to God. Vent to God. He won't hold resentment. He can help you and guide you in the direction you should go. Your relationship is your relationship and does not have to be like anyone elses relationship. In addition, your relationship with God is your relationship with God. You should work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. It's the fear and trembling part that will keep you in line every time.

  1. When you invite others into your business, your relationship is no longer your relationship.
